$connection need to be an instance of \Magento\Framework\DB\Adapter\AdapterInterface, so update your __contruct() like this

public function __construct(
    ...
    \Magento\Framework\DB\Adapter\AdapterInterface  $connection = null,
    ...
) {
    ...
}
